Workshop Guidelines

All participants should carefully familiarize themselves with all four workshop topics prior to the meeting. At the time of registration, it is required to rank of your topic preferences. Early registration is encouraged to ensure participation in a workshop of your highest choice(s).

Two discussion leaders in each group assisted by a scribe (all selected by the organizers) will introduce the topic, the main questions relevant to the topic, etc. The group leaders can organize the session as they wish, as long as they assure that all participants contribute to the discussion that follows. The aim is to engage everybody, and allow everybody to have a voice. It is therefore critical that all participants take part, either posing questions, or providing answers, possible solutions, etc. The scribe will occasionally pause the discussion to read back her/his notes and verify that the contents of these reflect the conversation. Frequent checks and balances are critical to a successful outcome and reporting of the topic group discussions. On the second day, the breakout groups meet to summarize their findings. The group leaders and scribe will present this summary in a plenary meeting, after which a plenary discussion follows. It is our goal at the end meeting to produce a report/white paper/publication of our mutual findings.
